Save money and time by updating your display wall
Retrofitting an existing control room or command center display wall can provide a cost saving opportunity.
In the past, when projection engines had completed their lifecycle, the only option was to replace everything – the wall structure, projection engines and screens. In these challenging financial times, this type of replacement could keep you from conducting a much needed technology update.
When a display upgrade is necessary, not all of the components may require replacement. The structure should sustain minimum wear over the years and is usually constructed of robust materials. Typically, the projection engine electronics benefit the most from technology updates; returning the display wall to its original brilliance.
Through Christie’s advanced engineering, you can now retrofit an existing display wall system with substantial savings compared to replacing the entire system. Our high-performance products can be adapted to fit most existing LCD and DLP® rear projection display wall structures.

Retrofit – Refreshing existing display wall structures with refreshingly new innovations
A retrofit project requires diligent planning to properly asses all of the installation elements. An experienced team is ready for unforeseen or unique challenges that are part of every upgrade project.
Every wall is impacted by its surroundings and fitting new projection technology into an existing structure can present unique engineering challenges:
- We’ve worked on projects with sagging floors due to original poor structural strength
- We’ve dealt with the complications of curved arrays including an update to wide-angle screens
- We’ve customized Christie projection engines for older 3rd-party cube structures
Our engineering and project management teams work closely with designers, consultants, system integrators and end users – often working on-site to ensure all the correct information is collected and client expectations are understood. Then we bring all this information back to our development engineers at our manufacturing facility in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.
